Soy Nicolas Arias, nacido y criado en una de las provincias más lindas de la patagonia argentina, neuquen
hace cuanto soy fotógrafo? no lo se... me crié haciendo deportes y disfrutando de la naturaleza
lo que despertó en mí la necesidad de querer registrar esos momentos y descubrí dos cosas:
por un lado, un deportista, con su historia, su resiliencia, frustraciones, sus promesas, etc. todo un combo de sentimientos que lo acompañan en lograr sus metas
por otro lado, la naturaleza, por momentos el paraíso y por momentos tan hostil que lleva a esos deportistas al límite de renunciar. tan cambiante, tan inmensa, tan sabia y tan primitiva
esta combinación hace que la fotografía deportiva sea capaz de contar tantas cosas en un mismo instante que despertó en mi una linda pasion
aprendí fotografía a prueba y error, en esa epoca no habia las posibilidades que hay en estos tiempos, no lo recomiendo por que suele ser muy frustrante
pero eso me hizo creer en el proceso, entender la vida, como así también a la fotografía en que es un proceso constante de aprendizaje hace que todo tenga sentido, y que ese proceso nunca tenga un fin lo hace mucho más motivador
la fotografía me hizo conocer muchos lugares y mucha gente linda, la cual me ayuda a crecer y a confiar en lo que uno hace, muy agradecido de eso
hoy me encuentro cubriendo muchos de los eventos deportivos más importantes del país y fotografiando a deportistas de renombre a nivel mundial y eso me pone muy feliz
Sports and Nature
I'm Nicolas Arias, born and raised in Neuquen, one of the most beautiful provinces of Argentine Patagonia, neuquén
How long have I been a photographer? I don't know... I grew up playing sports and enjoying nature
This awakened in me the need to capture those moments. I discovered two things:
on the one hand, an athlete, with his story, his resilience, frustrations, his promises, etc., a whole combination of feelings that help him achieve his goals
on the other hand, nature, at times a paradise and at times so hostile that it drives these athletes to the brink of giving up. So ever-changing, so immense, so wise, and so primitive
This combination allows sports photography to capture so many things in a single instant that it awakened a deep passion in me
I learned photography through trial and error. At that time, there weren't the opportunities that exist today. I don't recommend it because it tends to be very frustrating
But it made me believe in the process, in understanding life, and in photography, which is a constant learning process that makes everything meaningful. The fact that this process never ends makes it much more motivating
Photography introduced me to so many places and so many beautiful people, which helps me grow and trust in what I do. I'm very grateful for that
Today, I find myself covering many of the country's most important sporting events and photographing world-renowned athletes, and that makes me very happy
